Desmopressin acetate is a prescribed medication for animals suffering from central diabetes insipidus, a condition where the pituitary glands do not produce enough vasopressin. This synthetic alternative to vasopressin, also known as antidiuretic hormone (ADH), helps regulate urine production and water retention in a dog's body.
